Car care India: 4 Things to check before buying used tires

In India, few drivers prefer to buy used tires instead of buying brand new tires when the old tires wore out. Buying old and second-hand tires can be a great deal if you know how to choose the best among them. Are you one of them? If yes, then have a look at essential tips given by Car care India on how to choose best-used tires. And even if you don’t buy used tires, read this once in case in future single read can help you.
Search for Patch – This should be the very first thing when you pick a tire. Inspect properly and search for any patch, bubbles or odd tire wear. Avoid the tires with odd tire wear because they reduce the life of the tire.
Check sides – Done with the first check? Now inspect the sides of the tires. Sides should be in good condition and there should not be any bubbles and if any avoid them.
Check Treads – if a tire passes the above two checks, the next check you should perform is tread check. Use a coin to check the depth of tires.  2/32 is standard minimum depth, so if tire a depth more than 5/32, you can buy them.
Compare price – if a tire passes all the above checks, you should now compare the price of the used one and the brand new pairs. You will get used one at very low cost but you will not get guaranty for those used pairs. So if you want guaranty or warranty, go with the brand new or else go with used one.
Experts of Car care India – Autofresh.in suggest that if your vehicle is old and you are planning to buy a new one in one or two years, don’t purchase new pairs instead go for used one. And if your car is new, buying old pairs doesn’t make sense.
Every owner should follow the given tips before buying used tires for their cars and can order car care products online to protect their greatest investment from Autofresn.in, India’s #1 car detailing products store.

Know how to deal with common car wheel alignment problems

Wheel alignment matters a lot in the car because incorrect alignment causes problems. A proper wheel alignment is a must for a stable drive and for longer life of tires. Improper wheel alignment can be dangerous to drive it causes excessive tire wear and many more.

Let’s talk about the 5 most common problems of wheel alignment

Increased tire wear & tear

You will experience accelerated tire wear problem if your wheels are not pointing in the same direction as each other.
Excessive toe, either inner or outer is the most common culprit. It causes uneven wear across the tire. Even too much negative camber is harmful because of it the inner edges of tires wear out faster.

Reduced Performance

Maximum contact patch between the tire and the road is required to ensure the optimum performance of the car.
Performance can be reduced because of the incorrect wheel alignment. It will reduce the contact patch between the car’s tires and the road. Even incorrect wheel alignment can affect the braking and cornering performance can’t be as good as a properly aligned wheel.
If the front wheels aren’t parallel extra effort is required to push the tires across the road. The cars in/out toe settings are not correct, much more effort is required to turning the wheel at 45 degrees and roll along the same line.

One side pulling

This is one of the common problem mostly car owner faces while they drive a car. Wheel alignment is the issue behind one side pulling, specifically the toe settings.
Check the front wheel if the front wheels are pointing away from each other, it is obvious that it will pull your car one side because one wheel of the front is in the dead ahead position while other is trying to turn a corner.

Fuel consumption increased

Improper wheel alignment is the reason behind the increased fuel consumption. When you require extra efforts to turn the wheels it means that the alignment is not proper and it will consume extra fuel.
So make sure your wheels are aligned properly. So that the car’s power is not wasted and it will increase your cars fuel efficiency too.

Unstable

When you drive your car at speed, it is unstable and the reason behind instability is the improper wheel alignment.

Solution

If you are facing any of the problems mentioned above, you should first contact car experts and take your car to the garage for wheel alignment and fix it to solve the issues. Wheel alignment won’t cost you too much and it will provide you stable drive with better and improved economy and reduces tire wear.

Overcoming these common issues is also a part of car care. Keep your car well-maintained both ways, by keeping its interior and exterior parts healthy and clean. How to Take Proper Care of Your Car's Matte Paint Finish

Matte Paint Finish vehicles need extra care compared to other paint finish car. So if you own a one, you should do your best to take care of your car. Model or type of your car doesn’t matters you still have to take care of it by using car care products. Vehicles care should be taken on a regular basis because if you don’t the dust, grime and small particles of environment will damage your car. Many owners think that taking care of the car is not cheap, but it’s not that costly and it will give you great experience which will be pleasant. Don’t just drive the dirty vehicle until its wheels fall off.
Keep few points in mind and take proper care of your car’s matte paint finish.

Avoid automatic car wash
Try to avoid automatic car washing as much as possible if you have matte paint finish car. You can clean it yourself and if you are in hurry and unable to wash it or it’s inconvenient for you, you can go to a garage but choose a garage which still uses humans and not a machine for car washing.
You can give instruction to the person who is going to clean your vehicle that not to use any brushes, sponges or other tools which are used for every normal car.
Avoid automatic wash because it causes uneven shiny spots on the matte paint. And it is tough to remove those shiny spots and they will be costly to repair. So it is advised to every matte paint finish car owner to wash their car by hand and keep few points in mind for a better car wash.
Don’t use a sponge or brush. Avoid Wash mitts and paper towels. Use microfiber towels for a better result. Be careful when you wash the matte finish else damage repaint will be necessary.

Don’t use traditional wax
Never ever use tradition wax on the matte paint because waxing is for regular paint, to make it shine. But waxing can’t be done on matte paint because it might be damaged if you apply wax to the matte paint. So avoid polishes, wax because it is forbidden for matte paint. Or if you want to use it you can buy Matt Paint Car Care products from autofresh.in.

Use Microfiber Cleaning cloth
Matte paint should be cleaned with only water and microfiber cleaning cloth. Don’t even touch it with your hands when you enter or exit the vehicle. Get into the car safely without touching surface to prevent scratches on the surface.
Matte paint also lasts longer like any other kind of paint on an automobile but car owners must have to take care of it by respecting the requirements of matte paint which are not even so difficult.
So always use products that are specially designed for matte finishes and don’t try to fix damages with those old traditional methods.

So every matte paint car owner should keep these things in mind and always buy car care products from the authorized dealer like Autofresh.in. Visit our online store and buy car detailing products at great discounts. We provide free delivery and also COD option*.

Best Car Interior cleaning products
Interior cleaning is as important as an exterior. Car owners only pay attention to cleaning of exterior and take a lot of pride while they neglect the dashboard, carpets, and seats in interior cleaning. If you don’t clean your car regularly or once in a week, every time you get into the car the dust will be pumped up which contains bacteria and germs.
That’s why cleaning and choosing the right car care products for the interior is important. So let’s talk about the best car detailing supplies for cleaning the interior.
Interior cleaning has major 4 key areas that require cleaning more frequently.

Dashboard & Trim
There are various kinds of products available in the market for cleaning Dashboard and trim. If you like the glossy look you can opt for a glossy cleaner or if you want to keep it natural or matt choose products accordingly. Car Wash Tips - Car Care India

How often you wash your vehicle using car cleaning products? The answer will be as often as you wish Right??? But usually once a week is sufficient and remembers once a week is a minimum requirement you should have to wash once a week. It is a must. Pay attention to Dirt and contaminants. They should be removed before they permanently attach themselves to your paint.

Before you wash your car choose the best car cleaning products for your car. People use what they like the best for washing car. People use household products for washing car even dish wash detergents. But these products are designed to remove animal or vegetable fat from fired ceramic.

If you wax your car every week with carnauba wax than you can use dish wash detergent but you also know that you wax your car once a year maybe. So don’t use dish wash detergent. If you are looking to save some bucks in the car wash so let me tell you that cheap products will eventually damage your cars paint and wax. And as time passes you have to spend money on car’s paint and waxing it. So in a manner to save some bucks you will have to spend more bucks on cars paint.

Now you will be thinking how your wax last longer? Well by using products which are specially designed by Car care India experts for automotive use. Meguiar's hi-tech yellow liquid wax is special wax used by experts. Quality car washes or car wash shampoos are pH controlled.

So they do not damage cars paint or wax or coating. Instead, they enhance the gloss of car paint. Car wash breaks the electrostatic bond which is also known as the iconic bond between dirt and car’s paint.

Add car wash in the bucket filled with cold or warm water. Avoid hot water, as it will damage the wax. Read the direction given on the car wash product before you use any products. Don’t forget that wash car once a week not more than that not less than that. The more you wash your car, the more wax you remove. Try to avoid powder car washes as mitt under sponge scratch the paint surface.

You can use high concentrated detailing car wash shampoo for effective and gentle cleaning. The innovative formulation lifts grime safely off the surface while minimizing the opportunity for wash marks and surface damage.

Whatever tool you use for washing, use the least aggressive tool. You may use a wash mitt, wash pad, sponge or brush to wash your car. I prefer a wash mitt because soft fibers don’t scratch the paint. When you dip the mitt or wash pad into the wash bucket, give it a swirl to release the grit.

Wash pads are of two types, 100% cotton chenille, and microfiber. Each has an advantage and the choice is a matter of personal preference. Cotton chenille is a long "mop" looking type of pile that is also machine washable. Microfiber may be washed in the washing machine with Micro-Restore Microfiber Detergent.

I suggest don't use sponges, as the flat surface of a sponge may catch dirt and act like sandpaper. And not even brush as they scratch the paint. Check the roughness or softness of particular before you use anything. If you have a vehicle that is very dirty and you are not worried about scratching, then a brush may be the proper tool.

Before you wash your car make sure that your car is in the shade and the paint surface is relatively cool. If your wheels are dirty and you are going to use a wheel cleaner, then clean the wheels before you wash the rest of the car or else wash the wheels last.
Most wheel cleaners work best on a dry wheel. Spray a small amount of the wheel cleaner on dry wheel wait for 4-5 minutes and then clean all areas of the wheel with a soft cloth, soft sponge, microfiber wheel pad or wash mitt. Some areas of a dirty wheel may require gentle brushing with a soft wheel brush to remove the dirt. If required re-spray with wheel cleaner and gently brush.

When you wash the car body, sprays the car with a gentle spray to wet the entire surface. Start at the top of the car and work down. Wet the top, gently wash the top and then rinse. Move onto another section, such as the trunk or hood. Continue this process on down the car, complete only one section at a time. By these, the car wash does not dry the paint and there will not be any water spots.

The wheels are the last part to be washed, wash the wheels with car wash even if cleaned them with wheel cleaner to ensure that all traces of the wheel cleaner are removed.
Once you have finished washing all parts of your car you are ready to dry. You should dry the car as soon as possible. You can use 100% cotton towels, are a great drying medium.

Check towels carefully before you purchase them, as most towels contain stiff polyester fibers that scratch like needles. Do not trust the 100% cotton label on the towel.  A towel may contain up to 20% stiff polyester fibers and still be labeled 100% cotton. So ensure before you purchase.

You can also use a high-quality microfiber cleaning cloth. They are enough to dry an entire car without wringing. Microfiber will not scratch paint, but some edge binding May, so take care if you choose microfiber drying tool.

Once you have finished drying your car, you will usually have a few or a lot of water spots left over the paint. The best way to remove these is to use a quick detailer spray.

Monsoons are pleasant! People like monsoon except for daily commuters. Monsoons call for extra attention to your car and your safety. Maintaining your car during monsoon is an exhausting task and driving through water jam roads or driving during a heavy rainstorm is not without its hazards.
Did You Know – Accidents increase by over 200% during rains! Don’t be in a hurry! Drive Slow. Drive Safe.

Monsoon poses a lot of problems to car owners across the country. During the monsoon, the driver encounters difficulties in handling the vehicle. You need to take proper care of your vehicle using car care products to stay away from any trouble.
Let us look at the essential monsoon car care tips:
  1. The Tires
  2. Brakes
  3. Wipers and washer fluid
  4. Car Body Care
  5. Lights
  6. Car Doors
  7. Interiors

The Tires
Make sure that the tires you are driving on are in good condition. Check the treads of tires, whether the depth of tires is more than 2 mm or less than 2mm. If it’s more than 2mm than its safe for driving in monsoon else you need to change the tires because they are likely to skid on wet roads.

Tires with good tread have better traction on wet roads compared to tires whose tread is less than 2mm. Good treads also help in the prevention of aquaplaning. Aquaplaning occurs when the tires lose contact with the road due to excess water. This causes the car to slide over the water.

Maintain tire pressure as recommended by the manufacturer, optimum pressure is mentioned by the manufacturer. Don’t forget to check spare tire is in usable condition or not. Check your spare tire at regular intervals.

Brakes
Brakes are one of the most crucial parts; it plays an important role when it comes to driver and car safety. Do a regular inspection of brakes and keep your brakes dirt free. Brake pads can wear out in particular time period depends on your usage.

You cannot inspect the condition of the brake pads of all cars. So it’s best to have the brakes checked at your nearest service center. Roads are wet in monsoon and braking performance drops because wheels have a lesser grip on the road. Pay attention during the first few heavy spots of rain.

Dry out the brakes after passing through a water-logged road. You can dry out it by gently apply brakes. Brake pads should be cleaned weekly during monsoon. Keep safe stopping distance.

Wipers and washer fluid
A lot of car owner doesn’t pay attention to the wiper blades as well as washer fluid. Worn out the rubber on wiper blades will leave permanent scratches on your windshield and it will not clear the windshield properly.

The wiper may work properly on slow speed but not in faster so check that the wiper is working fine or not at all speeds. Inspect the wiper blades after six months. Take proper care of cleaning blades, clean blades with a cloth which is soaked in a mild detergent.

Dirt will be easily removed from blades using car cleaning products. Don’t forget to wash your windshield after cleaning wiper blades. Check the washer fluid level and have it refilled if needed.

Car Body Care
Protect the body from rain by applying a good wax polish. This will protect the paint and will also sheet the water off quickly when it raining

If there are exposed metal parts due to scratches or dents have them fixed/touched-up by your service center to prevent rust formation

Prevent rusting on scratches or exposed metal parts with a rust-preventing/corrosion-protection spray.

Wash the car immediately (or the next day) after wading through water-clogged roads or slush to avoid rusting and scratches. A high-pressure hose spray is strongly recommended.

Lights
Have your headlights, taillights and indicator lights checked and ensure they are working fine since the visibility is low during heavy rains.

Car Doors
Check the beading (in all the doors, boot and bonnet) and have it replaced in case of damage to prevent water from seeping in.

Interiors
In case of water come inside the cabin, use some old mats to dry out the floor. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean dried slush/mud that gets in via our footwear.

TIPS FOR SAFE DRIVING DURING RAINS

As much as it looks like fun, do not speed on flooded roads. If possible, completely avoid roads that are heavily water clogged

Watch out for large vehicles and speeding cars that can spray your windshield and reduce visibility

Use headlights so that other cars can see you and also help you clearly see the road ahead

Double the distance you would normally (remember the 3-second distance) maintain the car ahead of you.

Ensure you rev the engine while driving through a water-logged road. This ensures that the water doesn’t get into the exhaust pipe

If you engine stalls after driving through water, do not attempt to restart! This may cause severe damage to the engine. It’s best to call for assistance and have the car examined.

Take slow turns when approaching a corner to avoid skidding
If the visibility is near zero due to heavy rains, it’s always better to pullover
IF driving in the rain at night, take extra caution because two-wheeler and dark colored vehicles are hard to spot.

Turn on the defroster as soon as you see the windshield fogging on the inside. Turn the air conditioner for a while and the mist will disappear

Everything you need to know about Ceramic Coating

Ceramic Coating

Your vehicle is a major investment and you should protect it. Ceramic Coating is a liquid polymer that is applied by the hand to the exterior of a Car. The best ceramic coating creates a layer of protection, chemically bonds with the car’s factory paint. Till now the hardness of coating was 9H but now 10h products are launched by Gtechniq.

It creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond with car’s paint. It doesn’t require after every few months as it doesn’t fade away or break down.
Ceramic coating adds additional protection to your car’s exterior and helps to keep it looking like a new with minimal maintenance cost.

PROTECTION FROM UV DAMAGE

If a vehicle is often parked in sunlight, its paint will begin to oxidize, and the paint will be faded. A layer of Best Ceramic Coating protects a vehicle’s paint from the sun’s Ultraviolet rays and reduces the amount of oxidization.

PROTECTION FROM CHEMICAL STAINS

Chemical stains, another factor that affects car’s paint. By creating a chemically resistant surface, ceramic coating keeps away acidic substance bonding to your car’s paint. Because of Ceramic coating car will be more resistant to staining and etching.

EASE OF CLEANING

Ceramic coating is hydrophobic, it’s one of the most significant features of the ceramic coating. Hydrophobic compounds do not dissolve easily in water. This means that dirt will face more difficult to bond with the car’s paint so dirt will be removed with less effort.

ENHANCED GLOSS

Ceramic coating enhances the gloss of the paint, increases the reflection of paint and adds depth & clarity of car’s paint.
